Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Chelsea Carradine's double-double and Rachael Kruse's 25-point effort led the Indiana Tech women's basketball team to an 86-70 upset of preseason No. 20 Grace University on Wednesday night at the Schaefer Center.

It was an evenly matched start with the Warriors (2-2) and Lancers (2-2) tying four times in the games' first eight minutes before Tech began to separate themselves. After tying at 11, the Orange and Black stretched the lead to 23, outscoring Grace 32-9 over the next 11 minutes. After trading baskets just before the half, Tech took a 22-point, 46-25, lead into the break.

The Warriors shot 52.6 percent (20-38) from the field in the half led by nine points from Kruse while the defense held the Lancers to a 10-for-29 (34.5%) mark from the floor. Tech held a 24-18 advantage on the boards and dominated with second chance points, 11-2. The Orange and Black also won the battle inside, outscoring Grace 28-16 in the paint.

The Orange and Black got off to a good start in the second half, stretching the lead to 26, 53-27, on a layup by Sabine Filippovica at the 17:34 mark. The Lancers trimmed the lead to 24 at 8:46 and continued to chip away, outscoring Tech 21-7 over the next six minutes to cut the lead to 10, 76-66 with 2:19 to play. The Warriors were able to sink just enough free throws to maintain the double-digit lead and hang on for the 86-70 win.

Tech knocked down 12-of-29 shots (41.4%) from the floor in the second half despite only sinking two three pointers. The margin could've been wider, but the Warriors went 13-for-24 from the free throw line (54.2%) in the half n adjust 19-for-34 (55.9%) in the game while the Lancers converted 19-of-24 (79.2%) free throws and 22-of-30 (73.3%) for the game. Grace finished 22-for-61 (36.1%) from the floor and 4-for-17 (23.5%) from behind the arc for the contest. Tech out rebounded Grace 46-41 while dominating second chance points, 23-15 and bench points, 23-9.

Kruse finished with a game-high 25 points with 16 in the second half while also collecting four rebounds while Carradine recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Ulyssia Richmond played well off the bench for the Warriors with 10 points. Juaneice Jackson paced the Lancers with 21 points.

"We did a great job bouncing back from our loss to St. Francis," said Head Coach Jessie Biggs. "We had a hard week of practice and focused on pride, effort and energy and it showed tonight. We had 20 assists, which shows we are playing as a team and when that happens we have a chance against anybody."

The Warriors return to action on Saturday, Nov. 9 with an exhibition against NCAA Division I Chicago State University in Chicago, Ill. tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
