Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind. –The Indiana Tech men's tennis team suffered its first defeat on Wednesday night at Huntington, falling 6-3. Tech falls to 2-1 on the season while Huntington moves to 7-2.
The Warriors were doomed by a slow start in doubles play as the Foresters won all three matches. Vlad Khudziy and Jose Hungria won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, defeating
Mikel Oscoz and Joaquin de Leon, No. 2 doubles was also won 8-4 by Joseph Straznicky and Diego Inurrietegui who defeated
Joaquin Ferrando and
Gaston Raposo. The Tech duo of
Sriram Aranganathan and
Vinicius Silva lost 8-5 to Zaak Sparks and Joseph Brenneman.
In singles play the Orange and Black got on the board with three wins from Aranganathan, de Leon and
Nicholas Tripanon. Aranganathan won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4 over Straznicky while de Leon won No. 5 singles over Sparks, 6-1, 6-2 and No. 6 singles was dominated by Tripanon as he downed Arjun Bhalla, 6-1, 6-1.
Tech returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 with a 10 a.m. match at Taylor University.
