Women's Volleyball Aubree Reichel

Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. –The Indiana Tech volleyball team bounced back after its first conference loss on Saturday with a three set sweep (25-14, 25-22, 25-19) of WHAC foe Concordia on Wednesday night at Cardinal Gymnasium.

The Warriors (3-11, 2-1) recorded their third best hitting percentage of the season posting a .189 in the three sets, while holding the Cardinals (8-8, 0-2) to a .050 percentage. Tech also tallied a season-high 12 blocks and is the first time they have not committed a reception error.

In set one the Orange and Black got off to a slow start, falling behind 3-0 but fought back and after being tied 6-6, the Warriors went on an 8-2 run to take a 14-8 lead. Tech coasted home winning the final four points and a 1-0 lead. Cassandra Sarabia led the way in the first set with five kills in 13 attempts while Stacy Nagy added four and Christine Foest converted three. Taylor Kelso was big on defense as she collected 12 digs and Nagy was big at the net with one solo block and two block assists.

Tech grabbed the lead and despite three ties, never trailed in the second set, capturing a 25-22 win. Shanice Richards had another big game as she and Nagy each tallied five kills in the set while Foest added four in eight tries. Kelso added 11 more digs and Nagy collected two more total blocks.

Despite their worst percentage at just .087, tallying just 12 kills on 46 attempts and committing a match-high eight errors, the Warriors won the third set. The defense stepped up with 21 digs, paced by nine from Kelso and a match-high six total block with three assists each for Nagy and Foest.

Setters Alexandra Roberts and Kelsey Fitzpatrick both recorded season-highs in sets for a three set match with 20, while Nagy finished with 11 kills, also a three set match high, while hitting .611, coming zero errors in 18 attempts. Kelso's 32 digs were also a season-high in three sets.

The Warriors return to the court on Friday, Sept. 20 when they travel to Bourbonnais, Ill. to take part in the Holiday Inn Invitational presented by OIivet Nazarene University. Tech opens with a 4 p.m. match against St. Ambrose and an 8 p.m. match against the host Tigers on Friday.
