Box Score UPLAND, Ind. –The Indiana Tech men's tennis team continued its torrid play this fall with an 8-1 victory over Taylor on Saturday afternoon in Upland, Ind.
The Warriors (3-1) got off to a great start over the Trojans (1-7), sweeping doubles play, led by Joaquin de Leon and
Joaquin Ferrando who defeated Carlos Guarin and Collin Williams, 8-2.
Mikel Oscoz and
Sriram Aranganathan downed the duo of Carter Perry and Chris Robbins 8-4 while at No. 3 doubles,
Vinicius Silva and
Nicholas Tripanon won 8-6 over Brad Caldwell and Cameron Boehning.
It was much the same in singles play as Taylor won just one match, No. 2 singles, and lost the dual 8-1. Aranganathan dispatched Guarin easily, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1, while
Alberto Tenias did much the same to Robbins at No. 6 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles,
Gaston Raposo downed Austin Lindner, 7-5, 6-4, Oscoz defeated Williams at No.4, 6-3, 6-2 and Tripanon won at No. 5, 7-5, 6-2 over Perry.
Indiana Tech returns to the court on Friday, Sept. 27 when they host cross-town rival St. Francis at 4 p.m. at Swinney Park.
