@INTechWrestling Dominates on Senior Night

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The ninth-ranked Indiana Tech wrestling team, led by seven seniors, dominated their triangular dual against Mott C.C. and Calumet College of St. Joe, going 20-0 in the two duals with seven pins.

The Warriors started the night with a 56-0 thrashing of CCSJ led by a pair of falls by seniors Justin Brooks and Andre Dunn. Three other seniors competed in the dual, James Bennett, Kafuba Donzon and Kelvin Jordan, Jr., and all three won via major decision.

In the second dual of the night, the Orange and Black continued to flex their muscle, downing the Bears 51-0, including five pins. Kristopher McKinley started the match with a fall in 4:00 and Brooks promptly followed with a fall in 1:37. Fellow senior Novric Reese won his match 10-5 before Travis Barroquillo won via fall in 1:03. Mitch Roadruck recorded a major decision victory followed by Bennett who recorded a pin in 2:52. Jordan followed two forfeits with a 5-0 decision with Dunn ending the night with an exclamation point, pinning his opponent in 2:26.

At halftime of the final dual, the Warriors, along with Head Coach Mike Ester and Tech President Dr. Arthur Snyder, honored the first-ever senior class. The program was started three years ago by Ester and has quickly made a name for itself on the national stage. The seven seniors and their escorts are pictured above with their senior gifts.

The Warriors will take their No. 9 ranking on the road on Friday, Feb. 7 when they travel to Columbia, Ky. for a triangular dual with sixth-ranked Lindsey Wilson and No. 20 Life (Ga.).
