Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Despite 23 points from Ulyssia Richmond, the (RV) Indiana Tech women's basketball team lost their fourth straight game, falling to (RV) Cornerstone, 70-65 on Wednesday night.

Sabine Filippovica got the scoring started with a jumper and after tying three times and one lead change, the Warriors (9-8, 6-3) took control. Leading 11-10, Tech went on a 9-0 run with two jumpers from Rachael Kruse and two jumpers and a free throw from Chelsea Carradine, stretching the lead to 10, 20-10, with 9:43 to play in the half. A 16-6 run by the Golden Eagles (11-5, 6-3) over the next six minutes tied the game, at 26 when Richmond and Ashley Niedermayer traded baskets to account for the 28-28 tie at the break.

The Orange and Black were tied despite being outscored 8-4 in the paint and 10-2 in second chance points, while also being outrebounded 25-20. Tech was 13-for-34 (38.2%) from the field and 2-for-4 (50%) from the free throw while the defense limited CU to 13-for-36 (36.1%) from the floor and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Carradine paced Tech with 11 points while Katelyn Cousins paced Cornerstone with eight points.

Kruse hit the first three of the game to begin the second half, but Tanner Hostetler answered for CU for the first of four ties in the first four minutes of the half. After a Richmond three gave Tech a one point, 38-37 lead, the Golden Eagles scored the next six points to stretch the lead to five, but back-to-back jumpers by Filippovica cut the lead to one, 43-42 with 14 minutes to play. A 7-1 run put CU back ahead by seven, but Tech quickly answered with a 7-0 run of their own paced by a three-pointer and a jumper by Richmond with a Carradine jumper in between, tying the game at 50. After CU stretched their lead to eight with 6:26 to play, Richmond hit a free throw, a trey, a jumper and another three to cut the lead to one, 62-61 with 2:32 to play. The Warriors failed to hit another shot from the floor, knocking down four free throws for the final margin, 65-70.

Tech scored 16 points off 24 CU turnovers in the contest but were outrebounded 55-38 in the contest which led to a 26-13 margin in second chance points in favor of Cornerstone. The Warriors finished 26-for-74 (35.1%) from the floor, 5-for-14 (35.7%) from three (all in the second half) and 8-for-21 (66.7%) from the free throw line. CU finished 28-for-70 (40%) from the floor despite going just 1-for-11 (9.1%) from behind the arc and 13-for-15 (86.7%) from the charity stripe.

Richmond led the Warriors with 23 points, 21 in the second half including a 4-for-7 mark from behind the arc, 4-for-5 in the second half. Carradine and Kruse also finished in double figures, scoring 15 and 14 points respectively.

Jill Hendrickson did it all for Cornerstone, finishing with 17 points and 20 rebounds, while three others finished in double figures and Nidermayer collected 14 rebounds.

The Warriors continue WHAC play on Saturday, Jan. 11 when they host third-ranked Davenport at 1 p.m.
