FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Stacy Nagy neared career kill 1,000, finishing just five short of the milestone as the Indiana Tech volleyball team fell to Northwestern Ohio in straight sets, 3-0 (18-25, 14-25, 18-25), on Friday night at the Schaefer Center.
It was a hard fought, back-and-forth match for much of the night with 24 ties and eight lead changes in the three sets. Set one featured a match-high 11 ties and five lead changes with the teams tying 11 times in the first 26 points, the last being at 13. A three-point and four-point run gave the Racers (16-8 (10-2 WHAC) a five point lead that they didn't relinquish.
The Warriors (11-9 6-6 WHAC) fought back in set two, after trailing by two, Tech tied the score five times, the last coming at 10 all, but couldn't take the lead. UNOH used a six point run at 12-11 to open an 18-11 margin before winning the final four points of the set.

Shanice Richards kill and a pair of Racers' errors gave Tech a 3-0 lead in the final game, but the visitors won seven of the next nine points to jump ahead 7-5.
Katelyn St. Martin and
Christine Foest each tallied kills around a UNOH error to tie the score at 11 with
Cassandra Sarabia and St. Martin each tallying another kill to take a 13-12 lead. The two teams traded off the next nine points, tying at 17 before UNOH used a five point run to take a 22-17 lead, winning three of the next four for the win.
The Racers outhit the Warriors in the contest, .221 (34-13-95) to .064 (31-24-110) while both teams tallied 30 assists. UNOH also held a 46-41 edge in digs while Tech won at the net, tallying four blocks to two for the visitors.
Richards and Foest each tallied seven kills to lead the Warriors with Foest leading the team in hitting at .294 (7-2-17).
Karli Jones tallied 15 assists with
Emileen Palka adding 10.
Taylor Kelso collected 10 digs for Tech with Palka adding nine. Nagy added to her solo block record with two of the Warriors three on the night, while also adding a block assist.
Nagy will look to register kill No. 1,000 on Wednesday, Oct. 15 when the Warriors host Concordia in the Schaefer Center at 7 p.m.
