FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team upped its all-time home mark to 10-0 against Concordia University (8-16, 3-10 WHAC) by winning 3-1 Wednesday night.
Stacy Nagy broke a 5-5 tie with her 1,000th kill and helped sparked her team to take 11 of the next 14 points to a 25-18 second-set win. The Warriors (12-9, 7-6 WHAC) also took the first set 25-22, as well as the fourth set 25-13. The only set the Orange and Black lost was the third and closest set, 23-25.
Nagy finished the night with 13 kills upping her career total to 1,008.
Shanice Richards (14) finished with one more kill than Nagy, while
Christine Foest added 11 kills. Richards also had five of the team's six blocks and added three block assists.
Emileen Palka and
Karli Jones accounted for 52 of the team's 59 assists, with the latter registering a game-high 30.
Four Tech players had all but 10 of the team's 57 digs.
Taylor Kelso,
Katelyn St. Martin and
Elizabeth Mathews had a dozen each, while Jones added 11.
Indiana Tech won the attack battle in three of the four sets with its best hitting-percentage of the night at .333 in the first set. The win increases the Warriors all-time record against the Cardinals to 17-1.
Tech travels to Grand Rapids, Mich. for the Aquinas Crossover Saturday, Oct. 18 with two matches. The Orange and Black will face No. 15 Davenport University at 12 p.m. and then face host Aquinas at 3 p.m.
