GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team had an impressive first half, but No. 2 Davenport was too much to handle in a 6-0 loss at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex on Saturday night.
The Warriors (6-4-1, 2-3 WHAC) defense and freshman goalkeeper
Adam Viviano held strong in the first half, limiting the Panthers (11-1, 4-0 WHAC) to just one goal on 16 shots as Viviano made eight saves in the half. The lone Panther tally came in the 26th minute.
In the second half, Davenport struck five times, attempting 22 shots in the period while Viviano made four saves in the second 45. Davenport tallied 38 shots in the game, putting 18 on frame while both of the Warriors shots were wide of target.
Vivano made 12 saves, a career-high, in 90 minutes of play while the defense had no answer for DU's Dzenan Catic who scored all five second half markers.
The Warriors will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Oct. 15 when they travel to Detroit, Mich. to face Marygrove at 4 p.m.
