RESULTS | MILWAUKEE, Wis. – A return to form by sophomore
Wiebke Schlender as well as consistent play from
Courtney Dye and
Breanna Post has the Indiana Tech women's golf team atop the leaderboard after day one of the Stritch Wolfpack Invitiational at Brown Deer Park on Saturday.
The Warriors carded a 321 (+29) thanks to a two-over 75 by co-leader Schlender with Dye just two strokes back after a first round 77, currently fourth. Post also finished day one in the top-10 with an 82.
Bailey Bostler is currently 19th in the 63-golfer field, carding an opening round 87 while
Rachel George rounded out the Warriors score with a 97.
Tech finished the day 12 strokes clear of second place William Penn (333) and 16 strokes in front of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe, Madonna (338). Another WHAC competitor, Lawrence Tech (349) is fourth with Viterbo (354) and St. Francis (Ill.)(354) rounding out the top five.
The teams will return to the course Sunday, Oct. 5 with tee times scheduled for 8 a.m.
