@INTechMBB Suffers Road Loss to No. 4 Panthers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A 20-point effort from Chester McFadden wasn't enough for the Indiana Tech men's basketball team as they fell to No. 4 Davenport, 57-71, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic contest at the DU Student Center on Tuesday night.

Playing their last game before Thanksgiving break, the Warriors (2-6, 1-3 WHAC) got off to a slow start as the Panthers (8-1, 4-0 WHAC) started the game on an 8-0 run before Tanner Watkins sank a three-pointer to put Tech on the board. Tech was able to keep it close throughout the half, including cutting the lead to four thanks to back-to-back three-pointers from McFadden and Watkins. Davenport scored the last points of the half to take a 34-28 lead into the locker room.

The home team scored the first four points of the second half, but Tech scored four of the next six to cut the lead to eight. Unfortunately another 8-0 run by the Panthers pushed the Warriors deficit to 16, however, Tech couldn't get the deficit back to single-digits in the loss.

Tech finished the contest 20-for-54 (37%) from the field, 9-for-31 (29%) from long range and 8-for-9 (88.9%) from the charity stripe while grabbing 31 rebounds. McFadden netted a game-high 20 points while Watkins finished with 12. Franklin Lindsey led the way on the glass with 10 rebounds.

The Warriors will look to bounce-back on Saturday, Nov. 29 when they return home to host University of Akron-Wayne at 3 p.m. in the Schaefer Center.
