LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team, the eighth seed in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament, traveled to face the tournament's top seed, Northwestern Ohio, on Wednesday night, taking a 6-0 loss.
The Warriors (9-10) barely had time to settle in before the Racers (16-1-1) began their assault on goal. The home team, four days after defeating Tech 1-0 in Fort Wayne, scored the first marker of the contest in the third minute and added two more in the opening 14 minutes of the contest to take a 3-0 halftime lead.
UNOH outshot Tech 9-2 in the period putting five shots on frame while the Warriors didn't get a shot on net.
In the second half, the Racers continued to add to their lead in the second 45, tallying three more markers, for the final 6-0 margin. The Orange and Black took five shots in the period, putting three on frame, but couldn't find the net against the nation's ninth-ranked team.
For the game, UNOH took 24 shots to the Warriors seven, placing 13 on target with Tech placing three on frame.
The Warriors lone All-Conference selection, first-team honoree,
Tori Singstock, led the team with six shots, putting two on goal with
Nicole Price registering the only other shot for the Orange and Black.
The loss ends the season for the Warriors who graduate four seniors and will look to retool this offseason.
