PHOTO GALLERY | FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team took to Kline Court for the final regular season home Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match against Lourdes (17-13, 12-8 WHAC) Wednesday on Senior Night. The Orange and Black took the first set, but dropped the next three with the final two going into extended play before falling, 3-1.
The Warriors (18-14, 9-11 WHAC) took the lead from the get-go and never looked back before dominating 25-19. Tech had its best hitting percentage during the opening set win at .393.
In the second set, the Warriors took a 5-1 lead but surrendered 11 of the next 13 points and never recovered before dropping that set 25-17.
Lourdes took the second set momentum into the third and led Tech 13-3, but the Warriors came back to tie it at 24 apiece before losing in extended play, 26-24.
The Orange and Black also took the fourth set into extra play that saw the teams tied 10 times. Tech finally bowed at 30-28.
Shanice Richards led Tech in kills with 14, while
Christine Foest added 10. Richards also had three solo blocks.
Karli Jones and
Emileen Palka had 27 and 26 assists, respectively.
Katelyn St. Martin led the team in digs with 17, while
Taylor Kelso added 14.
The Warriors next head to Grand Rapids, Mich. For the Cornerstone Crossover. Tech will play two matches Saturday, Nov. 8 with the first against host Cornerstone at 10 a.m. and then against UNOH at 2:30 p.m.
