@INTechMBB's Comeback Bid Falls Short against Cougars

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team outscored Mt. Vernon Nazarene in the second half, but their comeback bid fell short in a 75-60 loss on Saturday night.

For the second time this season the Warriors (0-3) were the homecoming opponent for a Nazarene school, playing in front of 1,876 fans, Tech kept the game close early, tying the game twice at 3, on a Milos Milidragovic three-pointer and at 5 on a Chester McFadden layup. Unfortunately the home team gained some momentum and used a 21-5 run to open a 16-point, 26-10 lead that the Warriors couldn't overcome.

It was a much better second half, as the Warriors cut the lead in half, finishing the game on a 21-11 run, cutting the deficit to 15, 75-60, but ran out of time. The Orange and Black won every statistical category in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 12-5 in points off turnovers, 7-4 in second-chance points, 20-18 in the paint and 2-0 in fast break points.

The Warriors finished the game 21-for-54 (38.9%) from the field and 2-for-9 (22.2%) from behind the arc while converting 16-of-27 (59.3%) free throws. On the defensive end, the Cougars finished 31-for-63 (49.2%) from the floor, 9-for-20 (45.0%) from the three-point arc and 4-for-7 (57.1%) from the charity stripe.
Josh Fleming led the team with 11 points with Lavonte Davis pouring in 10 points and grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.

The Warriors return home for a three-game homestand beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 12 when they welcome Roosvelt to the Schaefer Center for a 7 p.m. tip.
