GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The sixth-seeded Indiana Tech men's soccer team saw its season come to an end at the DU Turf Field on Saturday night in a 6-0 loss to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference third seed and NAIA No. 10, Davenport in the WHAC Quarterfinals.
For the second time this season the Warriors (7-9-2) played a solid first half against the Panthers (16-3), limiting DU to just two first half markers while taking four shots and putting pressure on the Davenport defense.
Unfortunately, the Orange and Black were unable to convert on a few early opportunities in the second half and the Panthers offense got going, scoring four more unanswered goals for the final margin of victory.
The Warriors totaled seven shots in the game; with three coming off the foot of freshman forward
Mitch Smith, who also tallied the lone shot on goal for Tech.
Zachary St. Aubin added two more shots for the visitors.
The loss marks the end of the careers of six Warriors,
Bernard Wilson,
Padraic Ormsby,
Sam Didion,
Robbie Kiernan,
Stuart Mitchell and
Garrett Black.
Tech will begin it's offseason and look to retool for the 2015 campaign.
