Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – It was a successful senior day for the Indiana Tech women's basketball team as five seniors scored in the Warriors 85-68 victory over Concordia at the Schaefer Center on Saturday.

Before today's contest, the Warriors honored seven seniors who have contributed to the women's basketball team the past four seasons. Those seniors are; Kiley Camp, Chelsea Carradine, Sabine Filippovica, Rachael Kruse, Hillary Melnick, Preonda Reese and Ulyssia Richmond.

It was a busy opening six minutes that featured seven lead changes and a tie. The Cardinals (14-16, 11-11) got on the board first, but a Kruse three quickly gave the Warriors (18-12, 15-7) the lead 3-2. After Concordia took back the lead, the Warriors used a 7-2 run to take a five-point lead of their own, 11-6. The Cardinals followed with a 6-0 run to take back the lead before a Richmond three put Tech in front. It was her sixth point of the game, giving her 1,053 career points, placing her third on the all-time scoring list. Becca Sabol followed with a jumper to tie the game for the Cardinals before a Taylor Carver layup at the 14:11 mark put the home team ahead for good. Tech outscored Concordia 24-16 the rest of the half to take a 42-32 lead into the break.

The Warriors were outscored in the paint, 22-18 in the half, but forced eight turnovers that led to six points, while also winning on the glass, 21-19. Richmond led Tech with 16 first half points thanks to a 4-for-7 performance from behind the arc. Brooke Adams paced the Cardinals with 18 points and six rebounds.

Concordia opened the second half on a 15-7 run to cut the deficit to two, 49-47 with 15:06 to play. A three-point play from Carver sparked another run by the Warriors, pushing the lead back to nine, 59-50. The Cardinals didn't fold though, cutting the lead back down to three before Tech again pushed the lead to double digits, this time a game-high 18 points, 83-65. The defense stepped up late in the second half as turnovers led to easy baskets for the home team and kept the momentum on their side. A late basket by Rayana Villalpando and two free throws by CUAA accounted for the final score, 85-68.

Tech finished the contest with a 44-38 margin in the paint, a 20-10 edge in points off turnovers and also outscored the Cardinals 10-0 on the fast break. The Warriors finished the contest 36-for-66 (54.5%) from the field, 8-for-19 (42.1%) from three and converted 5-of-9 (55.6%) free throws. At the other end, CUAA shot 49.1 percent (28-for-57) in the game, but were just 4-for-18 (22.2%) from behind the arc and finished 8-for-16 (50%) from the charity stripe.

Richmond finished with a team-high 29 points while Kruse added 15. Reese finished with nine, Carradine scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds and Filippovica had four points for the Warriors.

Brooke Adams paced the Cardinals with a game-high 31 points while Becca Sabol added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

With the win, Tech wraps up the fourth seed in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament and will host a first round contest on Thursday, Feb. 27, against Aquinas. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
