Road not Friendly to @IndianaTechVB in 3-0 WHAC Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Katelyn St. Martin tallied a match-high 12 kills on the night, but it wasn't enough as the road woes continued for the Indiana Tech volleyball team as they fell 3-0 (12-24, 24-26, 19-25) at Cornerstone on Friday night.

The loss drops the Warriors to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play while the Golden Eagles improved to 13-5, 4-3 in conference play.

After starting the first set trading points, the home team then took control, using three separate runs of at least three unanswered points, including a six-point and five-point run to take the contest 25-12. The Warriors collected just eight kills in 33 attempts while the Golden Eagles collected nine in 23.

Tech battled back in the second game, using a pair of two-point runs to take an 18-14 lead. However, after trading a point each, Cornerstone scored six unanswered tallies to take a 21-19 lead. The teams tied again at 24, but the home team netted two more points for the 26-24 win.  CU once again outhit the guests .212 (10-3-33) to .054 (15-13-37).

In the final set, Tech used a four point run to stretch the lead to four, 9-5, and after exchanging the next six points, the home team used their largest run of the night, tallying eight consecutive points for a 16-12 lead, eventually taking the final set, 25-19.

Stacy Nagy remains one solo block shy of the career record, but the senior middle hitter did lead the team with a .250 attack percentage (6-3-12). St. Martin led the team with 12 skills in 31 attempts while Christine Foest added six as well.

Karlie Jones led the team with 22 assists with Taylor Kelso leading the defense with 11 digs. The Warriors tallied six block assists, getting two each from Nagy and Cassandra Sarabia.

Tech remains in Grand Rapids, Mich. as they travel to Davenport on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.
