PHOTOS | RESULTS | FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The eighth-ranked wrestler in the NAIA at 165-pounds,
Jacob Johnson, earned his third fall in three matches, but it wasn't enough for the team win as the sixth-ranked Indiana Tech wrestling team fell to No. 12 Lindsey Wilson, 24-19 in the consolation semifinals at the NWCA National Duals Championships in the Allen Country War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday morning.
It was another rough start for Tech, dropping a one-point decision at 125, but ninth-ranked
Brett Yarbrough gave the Warriors the lead with a 14-1 major decision at 133. A pair of pins at 141 and 157 along with an 8-4 decision at 149 gave the Blue Raiders an 18-4 margin with five matches to go.
Johnson gave Tech some momentum with his pin at 165 in 3:46 to cut the deficit to eight, but a 4-3 decision at 174 and a 3-2 loss at 184 gave LWC the win.
Brandon Sunday did register a fall in 18 seconds at 197 and
Kegan Clark-Sanchez won at heavyweight to account for the 24-19 score.
The Orange and Black will look to finish strong at the event when they face No. 10 Missouri Valley at 1 p.m. for seventh place on Mat 8 in Expo Center III.
