FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech volleyball team had its five-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday at the Schaefer Center as they were swept by undefeated Lourdes University (25-22, 27-25, 25-16).
The Warriors hit .306 and had 17 kills in the first set, but the Gray Wolves were able to capitalize on a couple of Tech errors and close out the set for the 1-0 lead.
After going back and forth through the second set, Tech held a 23-18 advantage, but the visitors rattled off five straight points to tie it up. A kill from reigning NAIA National Attacker of the Week
Cassie Sarabia gave the hosts set point, but an attack error from the Orange and Black and a Stephanie Richards kill knotted it back up at 25 all. Lourdes would then take the next two points for the 2-0 lead.
The Warriors were unable to rebound in the third set, falling behind by as many as 10 points before the Gray Wolves were able to close it out 25-16 for the sweep and their 14th straight win.
Sarabia led the Warriors in kills with 11, hitting .313 for the match and recording eight digs and a block and a half.
