SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team defeated Lawrence Tech, 4-1, on Wednesday afternoon in their regular season finale at a rainy LTU Athletic Field.
The Warriors got off to a quick start as senior
Megan Perrey scored her eighth goal of the season just six minutes into the game. Tech would make it 2-0 in the 18
th minute as Perrey found
Courtney Lakes for her second of the season.
After the Blue Devils had cut the deficit to one just before halftime, Perrey extended the lead back to two with her second goal of the match in the 56
th minute off a
Carmela Danardojo pass into the box.
Amber Huppert would add an insurance goal in the 88
th minute after
Miranda Smith found her just outside the box for the fourth goal of the afternoon.
The Warriors four goals were the most they had scored in a game this year and they outshot the hosts 20-6, with nine of those coming on goal.
Tailer Roscoe would make two saves while giving up the lone goal for her fourth win of the year.
The Warriors were scheduled to play Marygrove on Saturday, but the Mustangs had to forfeit due to a lack of available players.
Tech (8-9-1) qualifies for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament next week and will be the eighth seed. The Warriors will take on number one seed University of Northwestern Ohio on Nov. 4 in Lima.
