SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech volleyball team fell to undefeated and 18th ranked Lourdes in three sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-19) on Wednesday night.
Tech was limited to 32 kills and a .149 attack percentage, while the Gray Wolves had 47 kills and hit at a .279 clip.
The Warriors would give the last undefeated team in the nation their best shot, taking a 10-9 lead in the first set, taking the advantage off a
Katelyn St. Martin ace and a
Jazmin Alexander kill. The Gray Wolves however, would flex their muscles and go on a 7-1 run and force head coach
Kourtney Wilson to call timeout, but Lourdes would take the first set.
After dropping the second set, Tech would fall behind 11-6 in the third, but would take eight of the next 12 points to tie the set up at 14 all. The hosts would not let falter however, taking the next four points to take back control and close out the match.
Cassie Sarabia led the Warriors in kills with 10, while
Keasia Carlisle and
Gabby Staggs each had a game-high three blocks. Staggs would add six kills and hit .385.
Karli Jones dished out 18 assists and
Taylor Kelso added a game-high 22 digs.
Tech (20-14, 12-8 WHAC) concludes its regular season on Saturday when they host Cornerstone and Northwestern Ohio in a WHAC Crossover. The Warriors face off with the Golden Eagles at 12 p.m. before taking on the Racers at 3 p.m. in the teams Senior Day match.
