Warriors Rout Lakers to Start Road Trip

CHICAGO – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team opened up its four game road swing on Wednesday evening with a 96-66 victory over Roosevelt University.

Tech got off to a fast start as junior guard Miles Robinson and senior Tyrece Edwards started off the game with back-to-back three pointers and led start-to-finish. Robinson would add his second of four triples at the 16:56 mark to give the Warriors a 12-2 advantage and force the Lakers to take an early timeout.

The Orange and Black would continue to dominate through the first half and built their lead to as many as 20. Senior Dominique Walls scored 10 of his game-high 17 points in the opening half and also pulled down 11 rebounds for his second straight double-double performance.

Tech would continue to light it up in the second half, shooting 60% from the field and hitting 50% of their shots from behind the arc as they would stretch their lead to as many as 31. The Lakers would cut the gap to 12 at 52-40 just under three minutes into the second half, but the Warriors went on an 11-0 run to firmly put the game out of reach.

Junior Janzten Goodwin would score 10 of his 15 points and dish out four of his game-high six assists in the second half. He would also pull down six rebounds. Robinson and Edwards would also score in double digits with 14 and 12, respectively. Lavonte Davis chipped in with seven points, five rebounds and four blocks.

Tech (2-0) continues its road swing on Saturday when they head to Athens, Ohio, for an exhibition matchup with NCAA Division I Ohio. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and links to live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
