Warriors Take Down Saints on the Road

ADRIAN, Mich. – The (RV) Indiana Tech men's basketball team picked up its fifth straight win in WHAC play on Wednesday night as they defeated Siena Heights, 78-72.

Jaelen Manson scored a career-high 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting, with 12 of those points coming from behind the three point line. Miles Robinson poured in 22 points while dishing out a career-high eight assists. Tanner Watkins added 13 points while Lavonte Davis chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and a career-high six blocks. Dominique Walls grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds while blocking three shots.

Leading 20-15 with just under 11 minutes to play in the first half, the Warriors went on a 12-0 spurt over the next five minutes to push their lead to 32-15 with 6:40 to go in the opening 20 minutes. An 8-2 run from the Saints would close the gap to 11, but the Orange and Black would use a 5-1 run to end the half and head into the locker room with a 39-24 advantage.

The hosts would use a 32-22 run over the first 13 minutes of the second half to cut the Warriors advantage to six points, but a pair of free throws from Robinson would spark a 12-4 spurt to push their lead back to 13 with 1:24 left in regulation.

Siena Heights was unable to cut the deficit to less than six however, as the Orange and Black would hit seven of their nine free throw attempts down the stretch to close out the Saints in their first game as a team receiving votes in the national poll. Robinson and Manson would combine for all seven points over the last 86 seconds.

Tech (7-4, 5-1 WHAC) looks to keep its conference win streak alive this weekend as they face off No. 24 Aquinas on Saturday in Grand Rapids. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. and links to live stats and audio will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
