Late Goal Spoils @INTechWLAX Upset Bid

RECORDS: #4 Indiana Tech (3-3) #1 Savannah College of Art and Design (6-1)
LOCATION: Waleska, Ga. (Boring Sports Complex)
 
BRIEF: Alexa Winter's four goals couldn't lift the fourth-ranked Warriors over the top ranked Lady Bees on Friday. After leading for much of the contest, the Warriors allowed the game winning SCAD goal with just under three minutes left of play.

FLOW:
- The top-ranked Bees opened the scoring with three goals in six minutes
- Tech answered with three goals in seven minutes from Tayler Campbell, Winter and Lauren Allard
- SCAD scored two of the next three goals over a 10 minute period to lead 5-4
- The Warriors strung together three straight goals, two by Allard and one from Kelly Bose to lead by two
- The Bees scored with eight second remaining in the half to cut the lead to one, 7-6
- SCAD then came out firing in the second half, scoring three more unanswered goals for a 9-7 lead
- Winter then netted a back-to-back tallies with assists from Alexis DiGiovanni and Nicole Price to tie the score
- The Bees went up one with 11 minutes to play
- Six minutes later Winter found DiGiovanni for the equalizer with five minutes left in regulation
- SCAD netted the game-winner on a man-down opportunity with 3 minutes to play
- The Warriors took the ball 75 yards and got off a shot but it was saved with 1.4 on the clock

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Winter led the team with five points, scoring four goals to go with an assist
- Digiovanni had four points totaling a team-high three assists to go along with her lone goal
- Allard registered three goals on nine shots to compliment two groundballs
- Meaghan Eldridge held the team-high in groundballs with four to go along wither her fifteen saves in goal on the day
- Vikstrom collected two groundballs while Bose and Campbell each tallied one goal apiece

UP NEXT: Saturday, Mar. 21 at noon against #8 Reinhardt in Waleska, Ga. at the Boring Sports Complex
