RESULTS | NIOTA, Tenn. – The 13th-ranked Indiana Tech women's golf team finished second out of eight teams in their first tournament of the spring at the Tennessee Wesleyan Spring Invitational at Springbrook Golf and Country Club.
The Warriors finished the 36-hole event with a 655 (328-327) and were led by a pair of top three finishes as
Wiebke Schlender placed second and
Courtney Dye was third. Schlender shaved a stroke in the second round to card a 79 and finish with a 159 (80-79) overall while Dye turned in a 161 (80-81) for the tournament.
Breanna Post was six strokes better on day two and joined the duo in the top-10, placing eighth with a 166 (86-80).
Bailey Bostler and
Rachel George each finished in the top-25 with Bostler taking 13th with a 36-hole total of 170 (82-88) while George was 10 strokes better on day two, carding an 87 for a tournament total of 184 (97-87) placing 25th.
Jerika Bland also compete in the event for the Warriors.
For their performances, Schlender and Dye each earned All-Tournament team recognition. Southeastern's Andrea Lopez won the event with a 152 (76-76), leading the Fire to the team title as well with a 642 (322-320). The Warriors took second while the host Bulldogs were third with a 700 (346-354). Reinhardt (348-354=702) and Bethel (Tenn.) (365-357=722) rounded out the top five.
Tech returns to action on Monday, Mar. 30 for the two-day Mid-South Conference Spring Championship at Stonecrest Country Club in Prestonsburg, Ky. Tee time both days is slated for 9 a.m.
