BRIEF: The Indiana Tech men's tennis team faced its second nationally ranked opponent in as many matches and suffered their first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference loss, falling to No. 7 Northwestern Ohio, 7-2. The Warriors earned victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

The first two doubles matches went the way of the Racers as the NAIA's fifth- and 11th-ranked pairs defeated the Warriors top two duos, 8-3 and 8-2, but
Mikel Oscoz and
Fernando Sousa got Tech on the board with a 9-8 victory over Ronnie Myburgh and Akira Kuwada.

UNOH took a 3-1 lead as the East region's 15th-ranked player,
Joaquin Ferrando, fell at No. 1 singles to the East region's No. 2 and NAIA's No. 8 player, Daniel Reuda, 6-4, 6-2. Tech cut the deficit to one when
Alberto Tenias defeated Austen Hammett, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Tech couldn't get another win in the loss, but Oscoz took five games from NAIA No. 29, Rik van Gerwin before losing 6-2, 6-3 and
Fernando Sousa nearly upset Emin Alpan, who is ranked in the region, but ultimately lost, 7-6, 6-3.

IN THE NUMBERS:Oscoz and Sousa improved to 4-0 in doubles play while Aguirre and Ferrando are now 5-2…Tenias improved to 6-3 in singles play with a 5-1 mark in the No. 2 position…Tech is 37-27 in singles play and are three games over .500 in doubles action at 17-14
