BRIEF: The Indiana Tech baseball team had an offensive explosion on Saturday, scoring 39 runs on 38 hits in two games. The Warriors crushed the Saints of Siena Heights in game one, 29-5 before blanking them in the second of the twin bill, 10-0. Chase Keathley and Connor McLaughlin earned wins while Peyton Newsom powered the offense, driving in nine runs on five hits on the day.

FLOW:
GAME 1
The Warriors hung a crooked number in every inning but the seventh, scoring four runs in both the first and second, six in the third, seven in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the sixth to run-rule the Saints.

With one out, Brian Hakes homered to left field to put Tech on the board and three consecutive singles, including an RBI from Matt Bandor, push the lead to two. A hit-by-pitch loaded the bases and a throwing error plated two more runs.

SHU got an unearned run in the bottom of the inning to cut the margin to three, but the Warriors offense took advantage of another Saints error as Hakes and Tighe Koehring each drove in a run, the latter doing so on a triple to left field, to account for a pair of the four runs.

Caleb Heller led off the third with a bang, tripling to left center, before scoring on a Tyler Denniston sacrifice fly. A pair of Saints error kept the inning alive as Romer Portes delivered an RBI double and Newsom continued his hot hitting with a 3-run home run to left for a 14-1 lead.

Five more Tech hits and a Saints error led to seven runs in the fourth highlighted by a pair of two-RBI hits by Bando and Newsom, putting the Warriors up 20. SHU got two back in the bottom of the fourth with two hits and a Tech error.

A Zac Pfafman double in the fifth plated two more and after a SHU sac fly in the bottom of the frame gave them their fourth run, Jagen Millspaugh double in a pair in the sixth and Pfafman matched Newsom with a 3-run home run to make it 29-4.

The Saints got an RBI single in the seventh for the final margin.

GAME 2
The Warriors scored in four of the seven innings, posting two runs in both the first and seventh while putting up three in the third and fourth. A Dezmon Nunn leadoff triple got the game started and Hakes promptly singled to begin the scoring. A two-out Newsom single plated Hakes for the two-run advantage.

Newsom was at it again in the third as he singled in another pair of runs to make it 4-0 and a Heller fielder's choice plated the games' fifth run.

With McLaughlin solid on the mound the offense continued to churn in the fourth as Koehring double in a run and back-to-back singled by Bandor and Newsom made it an eight run ballgame.

The Saints tallied just one hit after the fourth inning and a two-run single by Portes in the seventh gave the Warriors the 10-0 win.
