LOCATION: Livonia, Mich. (Ilitch Ballpark)

BRIEF: Brian Hakes drove in five of the Indiana Tech baseball team's six runs, but the Warriors fell to Madonna, 7-6 with the second game of a doubleheader being cancelled due to rain at Ilitch Ballpark on Thursday. The Crusaders are receiving votes in the most recent poll and Tech nearly pulled of the win, but stranded the bases loaded in the ninth.

FLOW:
- Mark Carpenter delivered a one-out triple and following a Romer Portes walk, Hakes homered to left field to put Tech up early, 3-0
- The Crusaders got a leadoff home run and an unearned run in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to one
- Madonna tied the score in the fourth with another unearned run
- Tech took the lead back in the fifth with three hits and a sacrifice fly
- Chris Gaynor started the rally with a one-out double, scoring on a Dezmon Nunn single
- Matt Carpenter singled and Portes was walked intentionally to load the bases and Hakes delivered with a sacrifice fly to score Nunn
- The Crusaders loaded the bases in the eighth and a hit by pitch, ground out and two-run single put the home team in front 7-5
- A fielder's choice and three consecutive two-out walks, the third coming to Hakes, cut the deficit to one and loaded the bases, but the Warriors couldn't push across another run

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Hakes collected just one hit but had five RBIs and scored a run while delivering the Warriors fifth home run in four games
- Carpenter and Ryne Terry each had two hits
- Nunn scored twice and drove in a run while also swiping a pair of bases
- Connor McLaughlin got the start going seven innings and allowing four runs, two earned, on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts and five walks
- Jared Harvey (2-3) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in one inning of relief
