BRIEF: The Indiana Tech baseball team improved to 7-1 in their last eight games, outscoring their opponents 106-36, including a 36-6 margin in a sweep of the University of St. Francis (Ind.) on Wednesday night. The Warriors used a 10 run fourth to break game one open and then collected eight runs in the fourth of game two to help seal the wins.

FLOW:
GAME 1
Starter Chase Keathley allowed a first inning run, but allowed nothing else in his four innings of work, allowing the offense to do its job.
 
Tech did just that in the third as three walks and a hit-by-pitch set up a Zach Fyfe three-run double, plating three of the Warriors seven runs in the frame for a 7-1 lead.
 
Three more walks in the fourth allowed Caleb Heller to drive in a pair and Fyfe drove in another two batters later. After two more walks, Romer Portes drove a ball to left field, plating two more runs. Another pair of walks loaded the bases for Peyton Newsom who cleared them with a double off the top of the wall in centerfield, capping a 10-run inning for the Warriors.
 
A sacrifice fly from Zach Pfafman in the fifth made it 18-1 and the Cougars added a tally in the seventh, on a wild pitch, for the final margin.

GAME 2
Much like game one, a leadoff walk came around to score in the first for the Cougars, but the Tech offense was ready, answering with three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. Tight Koehring got the start behind the plate and drove in a run while Matt Bandor drove in two runs with a double to deep right center to make it 3-1.
 
Connor McLaughlin struck out the side in the second and the offense went back to work, adding four runs on three hits, with Portes and Koehring each singling home a run before Bandor drove another ball to right center, plating two more runs. He slipped coming around first and was replaced by Derek Morgan with the Warriors in front, 7-1.
 
Five hits and a double play added three more runs for the Cougars and it could've been more but a perfectly executed relay from centerfield ended the inning. The Warriors got the runs back in the bottom of the inning as Nunn drove in a pair with a single and later scored on a Hakes groundout.
 
McLaughlin answered with a shutdown inning; striking out the side with three backwards K's to get the offense back to the plate in the fourth, where they again broke the game open. Five hits and two errors led to eight unearned runs for the Warriors, punctuated by Koehring's grand slam to right-center. Nunn tripled home a run in the inning and Tyler Denniston singled home a pair for the 18-4 win.

GAME 1
Tech collected 11 hits, 15 walks and struck out just once in the win…The Warriors had 17 RBIs, four each from Newsom and Fyfe while Heller added three…Newsom, Remesnik and Fyfe each finished with a pair of hits…Kyle Mead scored three times, twice as a runner for Hakes, Nunn scored twice along with Newsom, Heller and Fyfe…Keathley improved to 4-1, allowing one run on one hit, striking out four and walking three over four innings
 
GAME 2
The Orange and Black compiled 12 hits, eight walks and just two strikeouts…Koehring finished with six of the team's 18 RBIs while Bandor added four, Nunn had three and Denniston added a pair…Nunn also scored four times while Hakes crossed the plate three times and Koehring and his courtesy runner Mead scored three times as well…Koehring also finished 3-for-3 while Nunn, Bandor, and Heller added a pair of hits…Portes extended his hitting streak to nine games and has reached base in 39 straight games and all but two games in which he has played
