BRIEF: The Indiana Tech softball team tallied just five hits on the day, but solid pitching by Jaime Kilps gave the Warriors their third shutout of the season in a split with Aquinas, 1-0, 0-4 at Michigan Fuller Park on Friday. The games conclude the Warriors season as Saturday's home finale has been cancelled due to imminent rain.

FLOW:
GAME 1
It was an old-fashioned pitching duel in game one as both pitchers took no-hitters into the third, with Aquinas getting the first hit on a bunt single, but a pair of fly-outs ended the threat. In the fourth, a half inning later, Bailey Dembinski got the Warriors first hit and reached third on a Saints error before scoring on a sacrifice, squeeze bunt by Jessica Cotton for the 1-0 lead.

Kilps made the run stand, allowing just three hits the rest of the way, with just one runner reaching third. The Saints best threat came in the sixth with a pair of two out singles, but Kilps induced a fly ball to end the inning.

GAME 2
The Orange and Black had a chance to score early as Alli Watson led off with a walk, but was erased on a double play, however, Hannah Foltz was hit by a pitch and Cotton singled to put two on, but a strikeout ended the inning.

Tech got just three more baserunners in the contest, including a Cotton leadoff double in the fourth, but couldn't scratch out a run.

Four hits, including a pair of RBI singles in the fourth put the home team ahead and three more hits, this time a two-run triple, accounted for the 4-0 score.

HIGHLIGHTS:
GAME 1
Tech had four baserunners with Dembinski collecting the Warriors only two hits, Foltz walked and Cotton was hit by a pitch…Kilps earned her fourth win, scattering five hits over seven innings, striking out one batter, facing just five over the minimum

GAME 2
Cotton finished 2-for-3 with Dembinski getting the only other Warriors hit…Watson and Tori Simper each drew a walk and Foltz was hit by a pitch…Simper allowed just two runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one while Maggie McCrory allowed two runs on four hits over two innings of relief

UP NEXT: The Warriors have cancelled tomorrow's contest against St. Francis (Ill.) fur to a threat of weather and it will not be made up, concluding the season for the Orange and Black.
