BRIEF: The Indiana Tech baseball team concluded the 2015 regular season with a split with Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference foe Aquinas, losing 12-2 in seven innings before winning game two, 7-3. The difference in the two games was the Warriors hitting with runners on and with two outs as they struggled with both in game one but excelled in game two.

FLOW:
GAME 1
The Warriors used a new lineup in game one that saw Caleb Heller catch for the first time this season, batting second. It paid off in the first inning as he drew a one-out walk and scored two batters later on Brian Hakes' RBI single, but that's all the Warriors got in the inning, stranding a runner.

Tech left another runner in the second and two in the third and the Saints took advantage, scoring a pair of runs on three hits in the fifth to take the 2-1 lead. With two on and one out, Jared Harvey came on in relief and got the final two outs to limit the damage.

In the sixth, the Orange and Black got the run back when Peyton Newsom drove home Romer Portes to tie the score. Tech had two on with just one out, but a double play ended the inning.

Unfortunately, the lead was short-lived as Aquinas used five hits and an error to plate seven runs in the bottom of the sixth before adding three more tallies in the seventh to end the game.

GAME 2
The Warriors scored in the first inning again in game two with three hits and a timely Saints error. Dezmon Nunn led off the contest with a single and Kyle Mead followed with a base hit to put runners on the corners. Nunn scored on a double play and Hakes followed with a triple, scoring on the Saints error to take an early 2-0 lead.

The home team cut the lead in half in the third, scoring a run on one hit and a costly Tech error. The Saints had another chance to score in the fourth, but left the bases loaded. The Warriors quickly capitalized on the missed opportunity, extending the lead with a two run fifth.

Zach Fyfe led off with a single and, after a stolen base and sacrifice, scored on Mead's RBI single. Mead followed with a stolen base of his own, enabling him to score on Portes' double for a 4-1 lead.

In the home half of the sixth the Saints again cut the lead in half, scoring a pair of runs on four hits, but Nick Noe came on to shut the door, allowing just one hit in the contest to earn his first save.

The offense added three insurance runs in the seventh, with Hakes driving in Fyfe with a single and Matt Bandor tripling home Robert Nagel, running for Hakes, and Portes for the 7-3 win.

BY THE NUMBERS:
GAME 1
The offense struggled with only four hits, one each from Portes, Hakes, Newsom and Steve Remesnik…Hakes and Newsom each had an RBI while Portes and Heller both scored…Tech drew seven walks  but left seven runners on base and were just 2-for-10 with runners on base including an 0-for-5 mark with two outs

GAME 2
