Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated crosstown NAIA rival Saint Francis, 8-1, on Friday afternoon at Swinney Park.
The Warriors swept the Cougars in singles action, while only dropping one match at doubles.
Mikel Oscoz and
Alberto Tenias defeated the Cougars two doubles team, 8-4, while also winning their respective singles matches in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, and 6-1, 6-4.
Rui Lima pulled off a double bagel at six singles, while
Kino de Leon won in matching 6-3 decisions at four singles. Nick Tripanon and de Leon would also win their match at three doubles, 8-2.
Nicholas Aguirre held on at three singles to win 7-5, 7-5, and
Joaquin Ferrando avenged an early loss at doubles to win 6-3, 7-6.
Tech (3-0) concludes their fall schedule on Saturday with a home match against Goshen College. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from Swinney Park.
