SYLVANIA, Ohio. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team used a 27-13 first quarter run to springboard them to their third win in a row with a 82-65 victory over Lourdes University on Wednesday evening at Tam-O-Shanter.
Haley Cook led all scorers with 23 points while shooting 70% from the field, including 5-of-8 from the three-point line, while pulling down seven rebounds, dishing out three assists and picking up three steals.
Taylor Seiss had 19 points and two assists, two rebounds and a pair of steals.
Sarah White had a season-high 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting off the bench.
Kendall Knapke recorded her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds while
Taylor Carver chipped in 12 points as well.
The Warriors lead wire-to-wire and got out to a 27-13 lead after 10 minutes of play. A 9-0 run that started at the 4:42 mark extended the lead to 22-9. White came off the bench to score 10 of her 16 points, including two three-pointers.
Tech would start off the second period smoking as Cook hit back-to-back three pointers to give the Orange and Black a 33-15 lead with just over eight minutes to go in the half as head coach
Jessie Biggs' team went into the locker room up 46-29.
An 11-0 run to open the third quarter put the Warriors up 57-29 and gave the visitors their largest lead of the game with just over five minutes gone in the second half of play. The Gray Wolves would cut the deficit to 15 with 3:56 to go in the game following a 7-2 run, but Cook would respond with five straight points of her own to put the Orange and Black up 75-55 a minute later.
Tech took advantage of 36 points in the paint while also getting 20 second-chance points off of 15 offensive rebounds.
Tech (13-8, 9-4 WHAC) returns home on Saturday as they take on No. 8 and defending conference champion Davenport at 1 p.m. from the Schaefer Center. Links to live video and stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
