FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team will host "Liver Cancer Awareness Night" in their home contest against Aquinas College on Saturday, October 22, head coach
David Bokhart announced.
The Warriors will be collecting donations at the gate for the game and no admission will be charge. All funds and proceeds will be distributed to liver cancer research. Tech will be sporting green uniforms for the contest and the jerseys will be donated to local patients suffering from live cancer afterwards.
All students (college-age or younger) that attend the game will receive a free Indiana Tech soccer jersey or shirt upon completion of a Liver Cancer Awareness activity at the gate.
Each player has also adopted a friend that they have been communicating with and developing relationships with during their treatment. All patients and their families are invited to the game.
The "Liver Cancer Awareness Game" is part of the partnership between the Indiana Tech Athletic Department and the American Cancer Society. Each month during the academic year, a team(s) are sponsoring awareness of a different cancer while doing various activities to raise funds.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday from Warrior Athletic Field. For more information the men's soccer team efforts, please contact Coach Bokhart at 260-422-5561 x2275 or
