Warriors Outlast Saints Home Opener

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The 20th ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team came out on top against Holy Cross (IN), 87-78, on Saturday night in their home opener at the Schaefer Center.

Miles Robinson led all scorers with 38 points on 9-14 shooting from the field and 6-9 shooting from behind the three-point line. Stuart Jackson rounded out double-digit performers for the Warriors recording 20 points of his own and grabbing six rebounds. Lavonte Davis was strong on the opposite side of the ball coming up with seven rebound, but also registering a game high six blocks.

The Orange and Black began to pick up quick momentum around five minutes into the contest behind a pair of three-point shots from Jackson and Jantzen Goodwin to go ahead 14-9. Tech continued to control the pace of the game as time began to wind down in the first half, reaching leads of up to eight over their visitors. Jackson hit a jumper in the final minute of the half to put the Warriors up 40-32 at the break.

Robinson took no time to heat up in half two with an early jumper in the opening minute that would be only part of his 28 point second half performance. Holy Cross did what they could to try to quiet Robinson and the Warriors down close to the halfway point, taking a one point lead off the O'Brien Hobbs layup. Robinson's jumper at the 10:54 mark would push Tech ahead by two and secure an advantage they would not drop the remainder of the contest as they went on to take the 87-78 victory.

Tech (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, November 12 when they host Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) in a 1 p.m. tipoff at the Schaefer Center.
