Box Score ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech ACHA Division 1 men's ice hockey team ended their fall semester schedule on a high note with a 10-3 victory over Eastern Michigan in Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) action at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
In an offensively-charged first period which saw seven goals, five coming from the visitors' side, as
Ryan Theisen and
Jace Childs made it a 2-0 game just 67 seconds into the game, while
Jarrett Pfeiffer,
Ryan Attwood and Childs tacking on another three goals to take a 5-2 lead into the first intermission.
The Eagles would cut the deficit to two goals in the second, but the Orange and Black would respond with five more goals in the third to complete the weekend sweep. Childs would notch his first hat trick of the year after scoring his third goal at 10:23 in the third while Pfeiffer became the first player in program history with 100 career goals after recording an assist on the first goal of the game.
Zach Larson made 31 saves in the win while Pfeiffer and Theisen would each finish with three assists each.
Tech will take a few weeks off for Christmas break before returning to action on January 6 as they continue their road trip with a visit to Fremont, Nebraska and a battle with Midland. Faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Sidner Ice Arena.
