Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

No. 20 Tech Falls to No. 9 Cornerstone in Final Road Game

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 20th-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak coming to an end on Wednesday evening at Mol Arena with a 95-73 defeat to No. 9 Cornerstone.

Miles Robinson led the Warriors with a career-high 35 points, going 12-of-30 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Lavonte Davis scored 10 points while pulling down six rebounds and blocking two shots. Dominique Walls grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds and chipped in six points and three blocks. Tanner Watkins added eight points while Jaelan Manson had five.

Tech got out to an 11-8 lead five and a half minutes into the game, but both teams would go cold for the 2:54, combining to go 0-for-9 from the floor. The Golden Eagles would break the scoreless drought at the 11:49 mark and would go on a 32-18 run over the rest of the first half to head into the locker room with a 40-29 lead.

Turnovers would plague the Warriors in the second half as they coughed the ball up nine times. Although they shot 43.8% from the floor, the ninth-ranked team showed why they are the defending national champions by shooting 60% from the floor and 45.5% from the three-point line.

Robinson would do all he could to keep the Orange and Black in the game as he scored 22 of his 35 points in the second half, brining the visitors to within 13 points at the 12:08 after scoring nine straight points for Tech.

The Golden Eagles would prove to be too much down the stretch though, pushing their lead to 23 points with five minutes to go as they locked up the number two seed in the WHAC Tournament.

Tech (21-7, 16-5 WHAC) concludes the regular season on Saturday when they welcome Madonna to the Schaefer Center for Senior Day. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. and links to live video and stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
