PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Indiana Tech baseball won its fourth game in a row and got another outstanding pitching performance from junior
Jared Harvey as they defeated Fisher College in the first game of the Al Oliver Classic at Branch Rickey Park on Saturday morning.
Harvey pitched six innings and didn't allow a run while giving up only three hits and striking out six Falcons.
James McReynolds earned the save in relief and picking up a strikeout while retiring all three batters he faced.
The Warriors was kept at bay by Falcons starter Brian Rosa for five innings, but the Orange and Black broke through with three runs in the top of the sixth to chase him.
Charlie Sipe doubled to lead off the inning and then scored one batter later following a throwing error from Rosa on a sacrifice bunt attempt.
Tighe Koehring then doubled home
Brian Hakes with a scorcher down the right field line to make it 2-0 in favor of Tech.
Keith Tatum would plate
Peyton Newsom three batters later with a double down the left field line as the Warriors would shut the door on the Falcons one inning later for the win.
Tech (8-1) returns to action on Sunday with a doubleheader against Fisher. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. from Branch Rickey Park. Live stats will be available at IndianaTechWarriors.com.
