LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech baseball team was swept by University of Northwestern Ohio in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) doubleheader on Wednesday at Racer Field. The Warriors dropped both games by 2-1 scores and both went into extra innings, with game one going 11 innings while the nightcap went 10 innings.

Kyle Mead drove in Tech's only run of the opening contest with a double in the seventh to plate
Tighe Koehring. Mead would also draw a walk while Koehring also hit a double.
Glen McClain went 3-5 in game one while
Brian Hakes legged out a triple.
Jared Harvey went seven strong innings on the hill for the Warriors, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while recording three strikeouts.
Connor McLaughlin would take the loss after going 3.2 innings.

After Mead gave the visitors the lead in the top of the seventh the Racers would answer quickly with an Alex Leach homer to left on the first pitch from Harvey. Both teams would get runners to second in the ninth with two outs but neither side was unable to convert.

The Orange and Black would again get a runner to second with two outs in the 10
th but the hosts were able to get out of the jam unscathed. In the bottom of the inning McLaughlin would find himself in a pickle with two on and one out but was able to wiggle out of it with a 1-6-3 double play to end the threat.

UNOH was finally able to get a run on McLaughlin in the 11
th as they used three singles to walkoff with a 2-1 win.

In game two Hakes would drive in the visitors lone run with a two-out single to score Mead in the third, but just like in the first game of the twinbill, the hosts countered with a run as they used two hits and took advantage of a wild pitch from
Tyler Wells to tie it at one-all.

The Racers had a chance to take the lead in the sixth inning of the seven-inning schedule game, as they got runners to second and third with one out, but
Brian Gremaux was able to shut the door on the threat.

Koehring doubled in the ninth but was stranded at second, the first Warrior to reach scoring since Mead's double in the fifth. Northwestern Ohio would complete the sweep with another walkoff, this time courtesy of Felix Correa driving in Jeff Cardenas in the bottom of the 10
th to salvage a split in the season series.

Wells would go five innings, giving up just one earned run on five hits while Greamux took the loss after giving up just two hits in 4.1 innings. Sipe would go 3-5 in game two while Koehring had two hits and a walk.

Tech (25-8, 9-5 WHAC) heads to Grand Rapids, Michigan this weekend to take on conference-leading and No. 21 Davenport for a four-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday from Farmers Athletic Complex.
