Box Score 1 LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team fell to No. 4 University of Northwestern Ohio, 8-1, while the women's squad lost to the No. 17 Racers, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at Racer Courts.
The two doubles team of
Joaquin Ferrando and
Nicholas Aguirre picked up the lone win for the Warriors with an 8-6 victory. Ferrando would fall in a tough three-setter at one singles, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
The three doubles flight of
Kino de Leon and
Rui Lima lost 8-6 while Ferrando Sousa fell at two singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Mikel Oscoz dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision at three singles as the Warriors dropped their third straight dual match.
Raquel Manzoni would fall at one singles, 6-2, 6-2, while the one doubles team of
Barbara Belli de Oliveira and
Anabell Cordero dropped an 8-3 decision. Cordero and Belli de Oliveira would fall in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0, 6-2, at two and three singles.
The Tech men (6-7, 3-2 WHAC) will conclude its match with Lawrence Tech this week before heading up to the WHAC Championships this weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Warrior women (2-11, 2-3 WHAC) will also conclude their match with the Blue Devils this week and also host Grace on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from Swinney Courts.
