Tech Takes Down Grace in Nonconference Finale

Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Grace College, 8-1, in its nonconference finale on Tuesday afternoon at Miller Field.
 
The Warriors cruised through doubles action with the third flight of Kino de Leon and Rui Lima pitching an 8-0 shutout while the number one and two doubles teams of Fernando Sousa/Mikel Oscoz and Joaquin Ferrando/Nicholas Aguirre both winning their matches 8-4.
 
Lima would only drop two sets in six singles play, winning in matching 6-1 scores. de Leon would cruise to a straight sets, 6-0, 6-3 victory at five singles while Aguirre won 6-1, 6-3 at the fourth flight.
 
Oscoz would cruise to a straight sets 6-1, 6-2 win at three singles while Ferrando would win 6-4, 6-3 at the one position.
 
Tech (7-7) will resume its suspended match with Lawrence Tech on Friday with a neutral site contest at University of Toledo Tennis Courts.
