Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team picked up its second 5-4 victory in two days with a thrilling win over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe Cornerstone on Saturday afternoon at Wildwood Racquet Club.
The Warriors found themselves trailing 2-1 after doubles action, with the two flight team of
Joaquin Ferrando and
Nicholas Aguirre earning an 8-4 win and both would win their singles matches at one and four, respectively, with scores of 7-6, 6-1, and 6-4, 7-5, respectively.
Fernando Sousa got a straight sets 6-2, 6-2 win at two singles while Aguirre's win put the Orange and Black up 4-3 with two matches to play.
Rui Lima would give the Warriors the win with a 6-3, 6-2 decision at five singles and finish off the 2-0 weekend for head coach Brand Danals' squad.
Tech (5-4, 2-0 WHAC) returns to action next Saturday when they host Concordia for a 12 p.m. start at Swinney Park.
