Box Score MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated regional rival Indiana Wesleyan, 8-1, on Thursday afternoon at Sutter Tennis Courts.
Joaquin Ferrando and
Nicholas Aguirre kicked things off with an 8-4 victory at one doubles, with the former winning 6-3, 6-2 at one singles while the latter pulled out the 6-3, 7-5 straight sets victory.
Kino de Leon pulled out the hard-fought 7-6, 6-4 victory at five singles while combining with
Rui Lima for the 8-6 win at three doubles. Lima would cruise to a 6-0, 6-1 win at four singles.
At three singles,
Mikel Oscoz would earn a 6-4, 7-5 decision while he and partner
Fernando Sousa would take home an 8-3 win at two doubles.
Tech (3-0) concludes its fall season on Friday against crosstown rival Saint Francis at Swinney Park. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
