FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 25-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to No. 2-ranked Adrian, 5-2, on Friday evening at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse in Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) action.
The Bulldogs would control the action through the first 20 minutes, outshooting the Warriors 18-7 and taking a 2-0 advantage into the first intermission. Tech would respond in the second with a pair of goals though, with
Brett Lervold putting the hosts on the board at 16:33 while
Joe Molfetta scored his team-leading 15
th goal at 10:05 to tie the game up at two.
The visitors would take advantage of a penalty from the Warriors to retake the lead at 14:21 in the third and then add two more goals over the next seven minutes to extend their lead to three and send the hosts to their third straight loss.
Chet Tooker made 38 saves in net for the Warriors while
Taylor Jones,
Nick Denice,
Nick Papandrea and
Adam Jonak all tallied assists.
Tech (13-12, 7-4 GLCHL) travels to Adrian on Saturday for the weekend finale against the Bulldogs. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. from Arrington Ice Arena.
