Warriors Smash Trojans in Homecoming Rout

Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Taylor University, 7-2, on Saturday morning in a non-conference contest at Kreager Park.
 
The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping through doubles action, with both one (Tiago Neves/Alvaro Gomez) and two (Rui Lima/Alvaro Garrido) doubles coming out on top with 8-4 scores. Fernando Sousa/Lucas Braga swept at the third flight 8-0.
 
Tech would grab straight set victories at four of the six singles spots with Lima coming out on top, 6-3, 7-5, at the one hole and Garrido taking the win at second flight, 6-3, 6-2. Pablo Bono and Gomez wrapped up the day for the Orange and Black at three singles, 6-3, 6,-3, and four singles, 7-6 (4), 7-5, respectively.
 
Tech (3-1) returns to action on Tuesday, October 3rd as they head to Hillsdale College for a 3 p.m. contest at the Mary Jane Delp Tennis Courts.
