Singstock’s Overtime PK Keeps Tech Perfect in WHAC Play

SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team kept its record in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play perfect on Saturday afternoon as they rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Lourdes, 3-2, in overtime at Wildcat Stadium.

Leading 1-0 after 45 minutes, the Gray Wolves would extend their lead to 2-0 just two minutes into the second half, but the Warriors would find their offensive grove in the final 30 minutes of regulation to tie the game up.

Kayla Saffran got Tech on the board in the 60th minute as Tori Singstock found her in the box while Lily Rothert would tie the match up in the 80th minute with a header after Marina Steffke crossed it into the box.

Both sides would each have a chance to end the game in regulation, but the goalies would stand tall to send it to extra time. The game appeared to be headed to a 2-2 tie, but a foul in the box by the hosts would give the Warriors a penalty kick and Singstock would send it home for the game-winner in the 107th minute.

Christina Wynn finished with two saves to pick up the win while Singstock's goal was her sixth of the year as she needs just six more goals to tie former standout Kara Walker for the most in school history.

Tech (6-4-0, 3-0-0 WHAC) will look to keep their perfect conference record intact on Wednesday, October 4, as they travel to Lawrence Tech for a 3 p.m. kickoff from the LTU Athletic Fields.
