GOSHEN, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team got back in the win column Tuesday evening as they defeated Goshen, 6-3, at the Goshen College Tennis Complex.
The Warriors would come out firing by taking all three doubles points, with the first flight (
Alvaro Gomez/
Tiago Neves) winning 8-4, the second flight (
Alvaro Garrido/
Rui Lima) rolling to the 8-1 victory, and the third flight (
Pablo Bono/
Fernando Sousa) holding on to the 8-6 win.
Tech would pick up wins at third, fourth and fifth flight in singles action to win the match, with
Alvaro Garrido rolling to the 6-1, 6-1 straight sets win in the third position to give the visitors the win.
Pablo Bono and
Alvaro Gomez would both pull out the super tiebreaker winners at the fourth and fifth spots, with the former coming from behind to win 6-7 (9), 6-0, 10-8, while the latter held on to the 7-6 (9), 3-6, 10-7 victory.
Tech (4-2) is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Purdue University Northwest for a nonconference match. First serve is set for 4 p.m. from Dowling Park.
