Warriors Close Out Fall Road Slate with 6-3 Win

Box Score GRIFFITH, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Purdue University Northwest, 6-3, on Thursday afternoon at Match Point Tennis and Fitness Center in nonconference action.
 
The Warriors claimed their first match point on the day at the four singles spot with Pablo Bono topping his opponent 6-3, 6-0. Tech would pick up singles wins at the three and six positions with Alvaro Garrido taking the 6-3, 6-4 victory and Alejandro Ortiz coming out on top 6-4, 6-4.
 
After opening with singles play, things would be knotted at 3-3 heading in doubles action. An 8-1 dominating victory at third flight by Fernando Sousa and Bono would put the Orange and Black up 4-3 while the second team of Rui Lima and Garrido would give the visitors the match win with the 8-3 victory. Tiago Neves and Alvaro Gomez would close out the match with an 8-3 win at first flight.
 
Tech (5-2) returns to action for their final match of their fall campaign on Friday as they host Judson University in a 4 p.m. contest at Kreager Park.
