FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 14-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball won their fourth consecutive game on Sunday afternoon as they defeated Carlow University, 84-25, in nonconference action at the Schaefer Center.
Haley Cook led all scorers with 20 points while
Kendall Knapke added 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Keanna Gary recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds while
Baylee Rinehart chipped in a season-high 11 points.
The Warriors would lead from the start as Cook nailed the first of her five three-pointers on the afternoon, but the Celtics would rattle off the next four points to take a 4-3 lead at the 7:29 mark in the first. A jumper from Knapke would give Tech the lead back and spark a 15-2 run as they ended the quarter leading 18-6.
The Orange and Black would continue their offensive showcase in the second as they opened the quarter on a 6-0 run and closed the half on a 20-0 run as they limited the visitors to just one basket on 1-10 shooting from the floor to head into the locker room up 44-8.
Carlow would open up the third quarter on a 12-7 spurt and show some signs of fight, but the hosts would tighten up the loose ends as they ended the period on a 10-0 run to increase their advantage to 63-23 after 30 minutes of play.
Tech's defense would post its second two-point quarter of the afternoon as they held the Celtics to 1-11 shooting in the fourth quarter while scoring 21 points to close out the 84-25 victory.
Tech (5-1) continues their home stand on Wednesday as they open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play against Madonna. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
