WILLMORE, Ky. – The No. 3-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team won their fourth straight game on Thursday evening as they defeated Asbury, 23-8, at the Asbury Lacrosse Field.
The Eagles would respond quickly to the Warriors first goal of the game to tie it up at 24:17 in the first half, but the Orange and Black would answer with three goals in the next four minutes to take a 4-1 lead.
The hosts would cut the deficit in half with a goal at the 19 minute mark, but Tech would again go on another run, this time scoring four goals over the next nine minutes to hold a 7-2 advantage. Tech would then close the first half strong with six goals in the final 6:35 of the half, including three in the final 90 seconds to lead 14-4.
Heidi Tremaine would continue her torrid scoring streak in the second half with three goals in the first 10 minutes of the half and finished the game with a season-high seven goals while the Warriors would outscore the Eagles 9-4 in the final 30 minutes to start their spring break trip with the 23-8 win.
Sam Vikstrom would add five goals while McKenna Mesciler chipped in four goals.
Kristina Scott grabbed seven draws while
Sydney Davis made four saves in the win.
Tech (4-2) concludes their road trip on Sunday as they take on No. 8-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan at 1 p.m. from the TWU Lacrosse Field in Athens, Tennessee.
